Programmes leading to M.Sc and Ph.D in Finance are available in the Department.
1. Admission Criteria For M.Sc Finance
(a)  B.Sc  holders  in  Banking  and  Finance,  Economics  and  Accounting  with  a minimum  CGPA  of  3.00  on  a  5-point  grading  system  or  2.75  on  a  4-point grading  system  from  the  University  of  Calabar  or  any  other  University recognized by the Senate of the University of Calabar.
(b)  Candidates  must  have  five  credit  passes  at  one  or  two  sitting  including English  Language,  Mathematics  and  Economics  at  the  ordinary  level,  as basic requirement.
(c)  Candidates  must  have  attained  a  satisfactory  level  of  performance  in  the University’s aptitude test or screening exercise and oral interview.
(d)  Reference letter from Head of Department or lecturer from former institution.

2. Admission Criteria For Ph.D Finance
Without prejudice to the general requirement for graduate admission, candidates for Ph.D must satisfy the following conditions:
(a)  M.Sc  Degree  in  Banking  and  Finance  from  a  University  recognized  by  the Senate of the University of Calabar.
(b)  At least a ‘B’ grade in Masters Research Thesis.
(c)  PGDM,  HND,  Third  Class  and  Pass  in  the  first  degree  or  degree  in  non-cognate Banking & Finance or closely-related areas are NOT acceptable for admission.
